Aritaum - Cream to Shine Tint Review

In Korea, there is a beauty store called Aritaum, which is owned by AmorePacific. For those who don't know, AmorePacific Corporation is a South Korean beauty and cosmetics conglomerate which owns several brands that you probably know, including Sulwhasoo, Laneige, IOPE, Mamonde, etc. Aritaum is like a one-stop shop that sells many of AmorePacific's products.

During one of my trips to Korea, I stopped by Aritaum in search for a new lip tint. Luckily for me, there was another 1+1 sale on Aritaum's Cream to Shine Tint that day. If you haven't noticed by now, I'm a sucker for 1+1 sales. Generally, when I'm searching for a new product to try out, I tend to choose something that's on sale. So when I saw this deal, I was sold. I ended up buying two tints (but I'll be reviewing four 💋) .

One of the first things I look for in any lip item is if it is moisturizing. I am quite picky with lip products, which is why I haven't found a lip tint that met my expectations... not until I found this one! This tint does not make your lips dry at all! Additionally, it applies well over lip balm (Chapstick is one thing I can't live without!). This tint passed my hardest test. I find that many tints and lipsticks are drying and uncomfortable, but not this one!

Another thing I look for is a tint's long-lasting power and durability: Check and check! While this lip tint's color fades throughout the day, it fades equally, unlike water tints. The tint is shiny and glossy when first applied and the color fastens to your lips very well. For example, if I reapply Chapstick on top of it later on in the day, there would be no color residue on the chapstick, nor will the color on the lips get smeared. Even after eating, drinking, talking, and day-to-day activities, the color remains on the lips. Occasionally, I'll have to reapply the tint, but I prefer a faded and more natural color. The tint has no taste.

As mentioned in the description, there are 10 color choices.  The photo on the right reveals a brighter color than actuality. I've only gotten a chance to try four colors, so I'll only comment on those four. I'd like to note, though, that these comments are based on my skin and lip tone. I've noticed that the colors look slightly different on my niece, who is lighter than me. The most visible difference is that the color pops out more against her fair skin.

  • Red Smile (04) is quite bold and has a touch of pink. It's a nice color to wear when you want to make a statement.
  • Girl's Night Out (07) has a vibrant pink color. Even though the name says "night out," it also gives a bright, summer day vibe. The color is a tad bit warmer than Pink On Top.
  • Pink On Top (08) is a nice color to wear when you're feeling cute and girly. It is a softer pink than Girl's Night Out.
  • AKA Coral  (09) is a very natural color and blends in with my lips, but not in a bad way! More like, it enhances my natural lip color.

This tint is packaged in a small, black tube with a doe-foot applicator, specifically a reservoir tip. This type of applicator has hole in the center, which helps collect more product so that you can apply your lipstick in one go. The tube is sealed with a sticker. I want to note that the color shown on the tube does not match the real color. It is usually sold for 9,000 won, or about $7.53, at Aritaum. It's a great price for the product you receive.

Quick story: When I went back to Aritaum to buy more tints for my sisters, there wasn't a sale. Even though there wasn't any posted sales for the tint, I still asked the sales lady if there were any sales. She then replied that I can get it for 1+1. Awesome! Usually in Korean cosmetic stores, the sales person has some control over the prices and products, as we can see in my experience. It doesn't hurt to ask the sales person. If they really want to make a sale or if they like you, they're more likely to offer you better deals and give you more samples. Just a little tip!

The only "negative" thing I would have to say is that this tint isn't easily accessible in the United States. There are a few online stores with limited colors, but even these stores aren't located within the United States; you would still have to get it shipped overseas. Not only that, but the prices are much more expensive, plus shipping. I've checked a few Korean cosmetic stores and Aritaum stores in the United States and have yet to find this tint there.

VERDICT

Buy it! recommend Aritaum's Cream to Shine Tint and would repurchase this product. This moisturizing and lasting lip tint is a must-have!
